Amphidermia Communis (2012)

Amphidermia- shortly called amphis, are [fictional] cold-blood creatures like reptiles and amphibians. They evolved from the same ancestor million years ago in the isolated island of Alta Rosa. Although they might resemble lizards, these creatures actually are quite unique, sharing genes and exhibiting characteristics of both amphibians and reptiles. Their unique feature is their skin which changes twice a year- during the raining season is soft and moist while during dry season it grows hard and scaly. (hence their name amphis = both ways, dermia= derma which means skin in greek).

The "filming" of a "Amphidermia Communis", commonly known as "common amphis" in its "natural" environment. It’s name is derived from it’s hybrid physiognomy. A class of animals on its own which shares the common ancestor of reptiles and amphibians yet evolved separately due to geographical isolation. This class includes many species, all which have the distinct seasonal metamorphosis: hard, scaly skin and larger lungs over the dry season(s) and soft, amphibian skin and smaller to no lungs during the wet seasons.
