the Random Sketchbook
A lot of my work, whether personal or for commissions, goes more on works and sketches where it’s free reign on experimentation on techniques, materials and mediums. Most stay hidden in sketchbooks and papers packed away in drawers.
This is a selection of a handful throughout the years from different projects, some personal and others commissions.

Amphidermia Communis
Amphidermia: etymology: "amphidermia" having two types of skin; "amphi" meaning "both"; "dermia" meaning "skin" in Ancient Greek.
The concept of this project derived from the question of "What if”.
What if the common ancestor of reptiles and amphibians was isolated at a complex of islands with various ecologies. What if, this ancestor evolved to an amalgamation of the two, sharing characteristics of both; amphibians and reptiles.
Amphidermia is derived from amphis = both ways; dermia= derma/ skin, referring to their dual skin stages, moist like amphibians during the raining season, dry and scaly like lizards during the dry season.
This was some of the concept development for the final design, for the final 3D project can be found here.
